Our secondary students learn history using DBQ units, and learn to write clear, evidence-based essays. **Instruction is differentiated according to grade level to meet content specific standards.

EXPLORING INTEGRATED SCIENCES

Students will spend time exploring four science content areas while making real-life interdisciplinary connections. Students will be introduced to topics in astronomy, physics, chemistry and biology. Students will use depth and complexity tools to approach each science discipline from the perspective of an expert.
10 weeks.
SHAKESPEARE FOR KIDS

Students will spend the month discovering and exploring the works of William Shakespeare.Students will delve into the key components of putting on a theatrical performance, by reading and engaging with the scripts, creating their own scripts, exploring set, stage and prop design. Students will use computer technology to plan, and synthesis the concepts that they learned all month to culminate into a small theater production at the end of the course.

Free

Media Literacy & Civic Engagement

Students will learn to be responsible digital citizens. Students will learn to Access, Investigate, Analyze, Appreciate and Differentiate between reliable and authentic Newsmedia articles. This course is geared at teaching students to analyze information as consumers and producers. engage in civil debate, critical thinking about current issues that impact their communities, and gain classroom confidence. We promise to provide your our students with a high quality civics education
